3 November 2026 · e-Smart Avia
On 3 November 2026, e-Smart Avia took part in a Netherlands–UK trade mission for the maritime and aerospace sectors at the University of Liverpool. Co-founder Jacques Heeremans presented the company’s plans to His Majesty King Willem-Alexander, Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management Vincent Karremans, and Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Sjoerd Sjoerdsma.
Jacques showed His Majesty a scale model of the BETA ALIA CX300 and outlined plans for a new series of demonstration flights in the Netherlands in the second half of 2027. The conversation covered electric aviation and e-Smart Avia’s ambitions as an electric cargo airline.
Discussions with Minister Karremans focused on e-Smart Avia’s plans to establish cargo operations in the Netherlands, including future connections to the UK and other neighbouring countries. They also covered the company’s plans to introduce electric cargo flights in the Dutch Caribbean.
Cross-border collaboration will be essential to bringing electric aviation into commercial service. We look forward to continuing our work with partners in the Netherlands and the UK.
